These walking Moots are intented to take you out of the matrix and into nature. It is the main reason why we do not charge for any outside events. If you bring a mobile, please make sure it is turned off.

We run very informal walking moots throughout the year around the West Sussex countryside, often with some drumming and a picnic. The aim is simply to encourage like minded folks to enjoy the natural world without the need to charge. We aim to inspire and encourage your connection to this beautiful part of the English countryside.

Ebenoe Common Walk

May Walking Moot

Join us for an enchanting walk through a varied ancient wood pasture with ponds, streams, meadows and reclaimed arable land under conversion back to woodland.


Ebernoe Common is dominated by old wood pasture where Commoners would have turned out their cattle or pigs to graze and browse on young trees and scrub, Beech mast and acorns, or on the grassy meadows in glades and clearings. Grazing stopped by the middle of the 20th century and the wood pasture became more and more overgrown. When Sussex Wildlife Trust bought the reserve in 1980, great effort went into opening up glades and rides, and restoring grazing to the reserve.

Pre-Solstice June Walking Moot and Drumming

Join us for an invigorating walk up to the top of Highdown Hill where you can see the countryside for miles around.


Highdown Hill is a hill in the South Downs, with a height of 81 metres (266 ft). The summit of the hill and its western slopes lie in the parish of Ferring in the Arun district, while its eastern slopes lie in the borough of Worthing. It overlooks Littlehampton, Angmering, Ferring and Worthing with views as far east as the Seven Sisters and west to the Isle of Wight.

Houghton Forest, north of Arundel commonly known as Whiteways

Drumming in the Trees

Join us for an easy stroll through the trees to one of our favourite groves inside Houghton Forest where we plan to sit and drum within the trees and chill for an hour or more

Walking in the woodland is the perfect way to get some fresh air and explore some of the area's most beautiful landscapes.
