Each year, we have a different festival theme which organically emerges from the conversations we have with each other, family, friends, festival goers and what the topical big questions are. This year, we introduce The Elements – the raw natural forces that shape life and spark our imagination!

Our 2026 theme invites us to celebrate nature in all its forms and the deep connections that bind them. From earth, water, air and fire, to the sun, moon, and stars, we honor these celestial and earthly elements as reflections of our own creativity and spirit.

We also explore the artistic elements — shape, line, texture, form, color, value, and space — as ways to express ourselves and connect with the world, one another, and our inner selves. As David Attenborough reminds us, “Nature is our greatest ally and inspiration,” and that spirit lies at the heart of Between The Trees. Our programme of high-quality music, talks, workshops, and activities is shaped by the beauty and wonder of nature & science, inviting us to reconnect with the natural world and nurture our creative exploration.
