Chesterfield Pagans Lammas Camp
Thursday 30 July - Sunday 2nd August 2026
New House Organic Farm, Kniveton, Ashbourne,
Derbyshire, DE6 1JL
Beating The Bounds
We start camp by “Beating The Bounds”. We walk around the perimeter of camp, beating drums and chanting and asking that the Spirits of Place, ancestors, gods and goddesses protect us and keep us safe, so that we can enjoy a lovely, peaceful camp.
Opening Ceremony & Fire Lighting
On the first evening of camp, shortly after the Beating The Bounds, we have a short opening ceremony and light our ritual fire – which will keep everyone nice and warm, especially during the evenings and nighttime out on the Peak District hillside.
Saturday Lammas Ritual
On Saturday evening, we hold a Lammas ritual – we present offerings, read The Quarters, and share food and drink (libations).
Handfastings
We host 1-2 handfastings (Pagan Weddings) at camp each year. It’s the best time of the year to come together and celebrate, due to the community spirit and the Summer weather. We encourage you to come and be a witness to these ceremonies and celebrate with couples as they enjoy their special day.
Closing Ceremony
On the final day of camp, we hold a short closing ceremony to thank the gods, goddesses, ancestors and spirits of place for providing us with the means to enjoy a truly great camp. We appreciate for many of you, you may be on the go or packing up to leave camp – but please join us if you can.
